We are recruiting in all age groups!

u14 players line up for a raceRecruitment at the Kent Phoenix takes place all-year round. We’re always pleased to welcome new children and young people to all of our teams.

That said, we do make a special effort to recruit new players between September and January. By signing up during this period of the year, young players get the maximum amount of teaching, preparation and training before the season begins in the late Spring and continues throughout the Summer each year.

Although you can come along at any time and we’ll help you get started, we also host regular Taster Days. Taster Days are particularly geared towards newcomers. The children and young people can give American Football a go, and we lay on special talks and help for the parents so they can understand more about the Phoenix as an organisation and ask questions of our Board Members and coaching staffs.

The club competes across a range of age groups including Under 11 Flag (7-11 years), Under 14 Flag (11-14), Under 16 Contact (13-16) and Under 19 Contact (16-19). Under BAFA rules, the age restrictions in brackets for the children applies on the basis of their age at the start of the season. If you are unsure, please contact us and we’ll help you work out the right age category.
