Safeguarding

We want the Kent Phoenix AFC to be a safe place for everyone, and we take seriously our duty to care for all children and adults who take part in our activities. We’ve created a page on our website where we outline some of the ways in which we try to take our duty of care seriously both on and off the field.

The Management Board and the Operations Group are both committed to implementing the British American Football Association’s safeguarding policies and good practice guidance, as detailed on their website.

The Safeguarding Commitment Statement was agreed by the Management Board and Operations Group and recorded in the minutes of their meeting, most recently in September 2023.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Marc Russell (Welfare Officer).  Our Deputy Safeguarding Lead is Lisa Parsons.

Safeguarding is a regular item on the agenda of all Management Board and Operations Group meetings. We follow the guidance from the British American Football Association as it is issued from time to time, and we also follow national guidance for all people working with children, young people or vulnerable adults and ensure they are safely recruited, have undergone appropriate training and are DBS checked.

Safeguarding information is displayed at all our activities and can be seen on our noticeboards.
