Phoenix first as Casey gets GB call

Congratulations to Casey who was recently called up to the Great Britain under 17 squad for Flag Football.

Pictured right with Coach Phoebe Schechter, formerly of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, and now a Great Britain player and coach, Casey attended the recent Great Britain trials and was delighted to be selected.

Casey has already said that it’s her ambition to make the Flag Football Olympic team for Great Britain in 2028. She’s certainly trending in the right direction and will be about the right age in 2028 to have a fantastic chance of making the team.

Casey is also a trend-setter for the Phoenix. While we’ve had a number of children and young people represent Great Britain in both flag and kitted football and at every age group, up until now they have all been boys. We’re so excited to see the development of women’s football in the UK and we hope to see more girls give our sport a try with the Phoenix.

We couldn’t be more happy and proud for Casey, and look forward to working with her as she continues to develop her skills.
