Thanet Mustangs win the 2025 Fire Bowl

Fire Bowl 2025

Congratulations to the Thanet Mustangs who won the under 14 Fire Bowl here in Maidstone on 22 June. In appropriately hot weather, the Kent Phoenix welcomed Thanet as well as the Nuneaton Jaguars, who made a long trip south to their first Fire Bowl experience.

Nuneaton got their day off to a good start with a 12-0 win over the Phoenix, but it was Thanet who made an early statement by winning 24-0 in the second game over Nuneaton. Thanet’s second game was an entertaining and hard fought encounter with the Phoenix and coming out with a 24-12 win meant that, at the half way mark, it was the Mustangs tournament to lose.

The second half of the day followed the same pattern as the first without any of the teams able to really change their fortunes or find an upset win that would re-set the table. The Mustangs eventually sealing their trophy in the final game of the day with a 24-6 win over the Phoenix.
